Holiday Preparation!

Our little family is heading off on our summer holiday soon! We are headed southwards to Cornwall to visit my parents, stopping to visit some friends on the way too. I have started writing lists of everything I need to remember to take with us; including everything from nappies to my iPhone charger. I’ve even started to make sure all of the clothes we want to pack are clean, now that’s an impressive amount preparation in this house!
Here are some of the essentials we are taking on our holiday:
Our Hauck travel cot.
It might be heavy but it’s a full size cot with plenty of space for our little monster to wriggle about in. My parents actually have one of these of their own, but we’ll need ours for the first few nights at our friends house. You can read my review of the travel cot here!
Our gadgets!
I can’t imagine leaving the house without our full complement of portable gizmos. This includes 2 kindles, several iOS devices and probably two laptops. I think I’ll make sure that Georgie’s iPod has been fully charged before we go, and load it up with some of her favourite tv shows so I can placate her with it if she wakes up on the way & gets grumpy!
The OXpwr two
We have been sent one of these useful bits of tech to review and I’m looking forward to seeing how well it performs! The OXpwr two is a portable charging station that can charge up to two devices at a time, perfect for our geeky little family & all our gadgets. Look out for the review sometime next month
The Westcountry Beaches app
This app looks brilliant for finding hidden little places to go while we’re in Cornwall, and has a fun social side that I’m eager to explore. You can find more info on the local beaches, check in, look at events & post pictures on your social networks. It costs £1.49 so it’s not a lot to pay for a wealth of info.
RNLI Beach Finder app
Another app for finding beach info on the go, this one also includes lifeguard information, a sandcastle competition, a beach quiz and weather information. This app is free
Georgie’s Trunki & Toybox!
I’m looking forward to trying out Georgie’s new trunki suitcase for the first time, and we’ll probably take both the trunkisauraus she got for her birthday and the olympic trunki we won at the baby show. This way we can use one as a sort of overnight bag at our friends, and leave the second one in the car with more clothes in for the week & a bit in Cornwall. We’ll pack the toybox full of all her favourite toys to take too.
Of course, as well as all these things there are a million other things I need to find, wash, sort out & pack! Hopefully I’ll get everything sorted… I have to do all the packing for all 3 of us and there is a lot to remember!
