Up!

Georgie's vocabulary is slowly expanding and the latest addition is “UP!”. We've also had a few “out”s and even one or two “down”s in the past few weeks, though “up” is the definite favourite.
This new word of hers seems to have many meanings, however. If she is on the floor it means to be picked up or to climb up. If she is in someones arms and I stand next to them it means to be transferred to mine. And, most puzzlingly, it also seems to mean down. A multi-purpose word, obviously.

Georgie said up to tell me she wanted to get on the swing... And up to tell me when she wanted to get down!
This morning, when Georgie woke up, instead of hearing the normal time-to-get-up grizzling noises when she was done playing with her toys, we could just hear Georgie repeating “up” over & over. It is definitely a nicer way for her to announce that she thinks it's time to get out of bed, instead of setting off the crying alert on the baby monitor.
Now, if she could only tell me when she needs a nappy change, is thirsty, or wants a snack! I can see that life will become a little bit easier when Georgie is communicating a bit better and can tell me what's wrong!
