Product: Sudocrem Sunscreen Mousse SPF 50
Age Range: 0+
Manufacturer’s Description: Our clever sun mousse is SPF 50, hypoallergenic and specially formulated to protect delicate young skin. It’s missing many of the ‘nasties’ found in some conventional sun protection products such as colourants, perfumes and preservatives.
Four-star UVA protection offers a superior level of defence against the rays that contribute to longer-term damage. Most skin and sun care experts recommend four or five star UVA protection as the minimum to look out for in a sunscreen.
And the mousse format means that, unlike many high factor products, it’s quick and easy to rub in – perfect if you have wriggling, impatient little ones. For paddling, swimming and splashing-mad kids, the mousse comes with the highest level of water resistance achievable in a sun care product.
Rating: (5/5 stars)
Review: The Sudocrem sunscreen mousse makes a lot of promises, including being very water-resistant, hypoallergenic, delivering high protection… all whilst being easy & quick to rub in. The short version of this review would be… it delivers, on all these promises.
I was hoping to make use of this sunscreen during our recent holiday in Cornwall, envisioning sunny days playing on the beach with my little family; however the British climate intervened and our holiday was a bit of a wash out, weather wise. Happily we had a few weeks of blazing sunshine straight after we got back (TYPICAL) so the sunscreen got lots of use in the garden and the park instead!
Georgie isn’t really a fan of having sunscreen put on and the normal creams that I have tried are an absolute nightmare – they smear, take forever to put on a wriggling toddler, don’t rub in properly, and I’m never sure whether I have managed to actually cover all of her exposed skin or not once I’ve finished
wrestling with her putting it on. The speed and ease of application of this mousse is just phenomenal in comparison.
Although Georgie detests actually going into her swimming pool, she does like to crouch near the edge and splash her arms & hands about in the water, and the mousse has been staying on fine despite getting very wet, so the water resistance is definitely very good.
As with the moisturising mousse, there is no greasiness or stickiness during application, it leaves no marks on her clothes, and a little but seems to go a looong way making the seemingly expensive can last ages. In my opinion this sunscreen is definitely worth the £15.00 price tag.
We have used the mousse loads now in the last month, and Georgie has spent hours & hours outside in the sun with lots of bare skin protected only by this sunscreen. Her occasionally sensitive skin hasn’t reacted at all to the mousse and is feeling soft and smooth still, and she hasn’t had any sunburn or even slightly pink skin despite spending absolutely ages outside in the middle of the day!
5 stars for a great product that does exactly what it says on the can.
