Apparently, Squidge is now the size of a peach. I can’t believe how fast time has already flown since I found out I was pregnant, over two months ago!

Now that the first trimester is over, I am definitely starting to show signs of leaving the sickness & exhaustion that came with it behind. I haven’t been sick for a few days, although I haven’t felt entirely myself, or been able to eat much either! I lost about 9 lbs in the three weeks between my booking appointment and my scan, and I’m pretty sure I’ll keep going down not up for a little while yet, because my appetite is so rubbish. I find it amusing though that even though my weight has dropped my waistline has noticeably increased already, and I’m on the quest to find some comfy maternity clothes asap.

I’ve also been able to swap my afternoon nap for a quiet afternoon doing some light housework, then chilling out with my crochet/book/laptop/ps3 on the sofa while Georgie has her nap. I’m not exactly blooming yet, but I don’t feel quite like a zombie either, so I guess that’s progress in the right direction.

According to the many pregnancy websites, Squidge is now in possession of fingerprints. I’ve sorted through Georgie’s newborn & 0-3 clothes to separate the gender neutral from the girly, so I guess he or she is already in possession of a limited but quite cute wardrobe as well! I have a bit of an OCD streak in me when it comes to big events like a new baby and have to have everything listed out so I know where I am. So, I already have a list of what we have for Squidge, and will soon write one with what we need to get in the next 6 months! I think I feel slightly more in control of the chaos when I’m as organised as possible.

It’s a big relief to have the news “out in the open” properly – my pregnancy was probably the worst kept secret in the world, although I didn’t want to go completely public on here and facebook until we knew everything was ok at the scan. Many of my friends & family knew though, and I’ve had to bite my virtual tongue on twitter whenever I’ve felt the urge to complain about a pregnancy symptom! I had to go to a couple of hen dos and things though, so my non drinking exhausted state was bound to be noticed and sussed out if I hadn’t come clean to everyone involved!
