I am currently hosting a fantastic competition to design a doll, with the winner (picked by myself & Georgie!) winning a Bigjigs Doll of their choice. Georgie just adores her Bigjigs Melody and Nancy dolls, and Melody has been her one very special toy since she came into our household last year.
Even though we obviously can’t enter ourselves, I thought it would be fun for Georgie and I to have a go at colouring in our own dolls and see what my little girl came up with. She had quite a bit of creative control over mine as well as doing her own – my doll had to have brown hair like Melody, and lots of spots on her dress!
Here are the dolls we came up with, what do you think?!
Georgie took this photo herself, of my doll, and I’m quite impressed with her photo…
It was a lot of fun doing this with Georgie and a nice chance to talk about colours and shapes, as well as for her to practise her pen control. She is just starting to get more into the whole thing of colouring in and doing more that just scribble randomly all over the page, completely obscuring the outline underneath. If I had given her this colouring sheet and her felt tips 6 months ago, I would have been presented with a multicoloured scribbly blob 10 minutes later!
Why not download a colouring sheet and join in the fun? The download link can be found here, along with instructions for sending in your competition entries.
P.S. Yes, that is a cow tattoo on my doll’s arm. What can I say, she’s a rebel.
