Cake Angels Halloween Range

Review: We were sent a Cake Angels Graveyard Flapjack Kit and pot of Halloween Sprinkles to do some halloween themed baking, and Georgie and I had great fun making some yummy and very colourful treats.

The flapjack kit was really simple to mix up and comes with its own disposable cardboard tray, which eliminates the need for you to have a tray the right size at home already. Inside the box you get a pack of flapjack mix, one of icing sugar, a little bag of green sprinkles and some sugar wafer gravestones.

This kit is very child friendly as it is incredibly easy to make – you add a little bit of butter and water to the flapjack mix & stir it up, before popping it into the tray and baking for around 12-15 minutes. Once the flapjack is cool, you cut into sixths and decorate.

The decorations supplied are great, the green sprinkles stuck on with the icing make the grass, and the gravestones are easier to stick on standing on their end then I thought they would be. Georgie was able to help spread the icing and had great fun doing the sprinkles, but the only thing she couldn’t do herself was the gravestones.

Georgie really enjoyed mixing up the flapjacks and decorating them; it was really fun and all you need to have in the house to make these is a tiny amount of butter, some water, an oven and a bowl & spoon – so they can be baked at short notice, with no need to go out & buy anything specially. Kits like this are perfect to have in the cupboard for rainy days!

As well as baking the flapjacks, we also did a simple biscuit recipe from Georgie’s Usborne “First Picture Cookbook” and decorated using some purple icing and the Halloween Sprinkles. Georgie was very pleased with the finished results, although the speed the sprinkles came pouring out made me wish I hadn’t just handed the pot over!

I thought that the flapjacks tasted great, and the sprinkles are great fun. There are four different types of sprinkles; little ghost & bat sugar shapes, orange & black sprinkles, bronze & black sugar pearls, and orange sugar pieces This gives you a great range of decorations whilst still all matching. Very halloween-y!

These products both seem like great value and it is really nice to be able to get Georgie doing this sort of thing in the kitchen. The best thing about the kit is that it makes everything so easy; by skipping the measuring and having to have each individual ingredient in the house you save time, and that makes things a lot easier with a toddler around!

We give these Cake Angels Halloween products 5 stars… yum.
