We were pretty busy in November, with some fun family outings and also some lovely time chilling at home and walking the latest addition to the family, Gypsy.
We really enjoyed Brick Live at the start of the month, and also the Winter Wonderland launch event at the SnowDome. We saw two great live theatre shows – Rudolf at MAC which was great fun, and The Wizard of Oz at Birmingham REP which was simply amazing. We finished off the month with a trip to Cadbury World to see their Christmas offerings (and eat delicious liquid chocolate – YUM).
I was fairly busy with work in November as a popular WordPress plugin was revealed to have a major security flaw and bots were very busy hacking lots of bloggers sites, so I was busy sorting a whole load of those out!
Lydia had a long hospital appointment for her eye – her pre-op appointment as she had been accepted by the surgeon as a viable candidate for squint surgery. She was very good and did lots of various tests and signed her surgery consent form herself with neater handwriting than her Daddy! I’ll be blogging more about that in the New Year as she has had her surgery now.
I’ve been reading…
My favourite book in November was probably The Other Miss Bridgerton by Julia Quinn. I love her books and this one was particularly fun. It’s also inspired me to go back and read some of her earlier books, starting with To Catch an Heiress as it is just £1.99 on kindle at the moment.
I’ve also been enjoying the Crimes of Grindelwald Screenplay as you get a real insight into the film.
As well as those two books (and a bunch of others on Kindle Unlimited), I’ve caught up with Aven Ellis’ latest books; Swing and a Miss and The Bottom Line – light hearted romance novels that are both funny and sweet, with likeable characters.
I’ve been watching…
LEGO Masters with the kids – although with everything going on we haven’t actually watched the final episode so don’t know who the winners are yet. The girls really enjoy it and we have been so busy we haven’t had time to sit and watch it and actually concentrate on it yet.
While I was down at Butlins with some of the BlogOn team for a 90s weekend break we had an outing to go and see Fantastic Beasts 2 – I loved it. I am really looking forward to the finale now, I really want to know what happens next!
TV wise I enjoyed the first half of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina TV series, and binged a whole load of Orphan Black. I loved both these series! I was a huge Sabrina the Teenage Witch fan as a kid, including having loads of the books, so seeing the remake is a lot of fun. Orphan Black is simply fantastic – I highly recommend it!
I’ve been listening to…
On Amazon Music I’ve been listening to Hamilton, The Greatest Showman: Reimagined, Counting Crows, Disney, random ‘laid back’ music, and pretty much whatever Alexa plays.
On Audible, I re-listened to A Place to Call Home by Carole Matthews. It’s a great story and really makes you appreciate what you have.
I’ve been playing…
Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PS4! We ordered this at the start of the month and both James and I have been loving it – James is much further than me because I do have a tendency to spend an entire hour tracking one animal and random things like that when I play games like this! It is visually stunning and the storylines and character depth is amazing. You even have to remember to eat which is usually overlooked in games!
Month in a Minute
Only one of these left this year! Look out for my 2018 in 12 minutes round up in Jan. Have a great Christmas holiday!
