The Monthly Fandom Collection

Review: This is my second TMFC subscription box, and I loved it. I can’t choose which I love most; Beauty & the Beast or Harry Potter – and now I have fab jewellery from both fandoms!

Things have been a bit crazy with my health and medication changes etc the last few months, along with a few other things going on, so this review is a little late, so apologies for that! I know the blog has had a very quiet spring because I was pretty much out of commission there for a while. Anyway, on with the review!

Inside the cardboard box I found a cardboard packet, a small wrapped parcel, and a mini postcard with “Greetings from Hogwarts” – it’s wonderfully illustrated, and has

Inside the larger packet were a couple of small parcels and a sheet of fab Lumos/Nox stickers. In addition to these stickers, the Harry Potter themed box included a lightning scar necklace, Harry’s glasses & scar stud earrings, and a keyring with the horcrux symbol from the final book, as well as a disc engraved with the infamous phrase “I solemnly swear I am up to no good”.

I popped the keyring on to my house keys and love having a little bit of Harry Potter neediness on my keys. The little earrings are really sweet and instantly recognisable as the glasses and scar belonging to Harry Potter.

The Lumos and Nox stickers are designed to be popped onto light switches. Any Harry Potter fan will know that Lumos is the spell to shine a light on the end of the Wizard’s wand, and Nox is the spell to extinguish the light. Harry uses it to read spell books under his bedcovers, and of course to wander the halls of Hogwarts at night, getting up to all sorts of mischief! Here are ours on our living room light switches: the top buttons turn the lights on, and the bottom switches them off.

Lastly, I have to talk to you about the lightning scar necklace. It is perfect! I love simple jewellery like this, and something like this lightning bolt can easily be spotted by fellow “Potterheads” as being Harry’s scar, while also just looking like a really pretty necklace to those not in the know. The chain is a good length and includes a short length of chain making it slightly adjustable.

Overall I was delighted with the contents of this Harry Potter themed box from The Monthly Fandom Collection. It was definitely a hit with this Harry Potter fan. I think you get really great value for the price, too.
