Rating: (5/5 stars) Review: Lydia is an absolute blanket addict (she sleeps in a nest of them!) and we all enjoy snuggling under one on the sofa, so when My Picture offered to send a blanket to us for review I was happy to oblige! I chose a photo from a year or so ago of the girls and dogs on a cliff top in Felixstowe. They were windblown and happy, capturing a perfect moment from our family holiday. It’s one of my favourite photos of them from the last few years, and I thought it would be perfect to immortalise in the form of a cosy blanket for our armchair. Although I sent my photo via email for the review, I also visited the website to check out the upload and edit process. It all seems very easy to do, with a simple and clean layout. You can zoom in and out of your photo, adjust it in the blanket preview, and even use an editing web app to add filters, text, or fun overlays. This is in addition to basic brightness, saturation, and contrast adjustments. The blanket itself is lovely – very plush and snuggly. One side features the photo printed all the way to the edges, backed with a super soft dark grey fleece. It’s finished off with blanket stitch around the edges, giving it a nice weight that makes it feel very comforting to snuggle up under. The photo side has a silky feel, while the back side is a very cosy plush fabric. The print quality of the photograph is as good as you could expect on a downy blanket. It’s not super detailed, and some of the textures of the photo are lost in the fleecy texture, but the girls and dogs are completely recognisable. We have the medium-sized blanket, and Lydia found it hilarious that it made it pretty much life-size! The colours are also good – I’ve ordered photo products before that arrive looking too dark or bright compared to the original image, but this blanket is bang on when you compare it to the photograph. This blanket is machine washable, making it easy to clean if coffee spills happen, which is a common issue for our living room blankets. The dogs also love to snooze on them, so being able to toss them in the washing machine is essential. It’s made of 100% polyester, like most fleeces. The pricing seems very reasonable, especially considering the good quality and layered, super soft blanket. I’ve compared it to competitors’ products in the same price range, and those seem much lower quality with just one thin layer of fleece. It’s no surprise that they have a great rating on Trustpilot, with many customers happy with the pricing and products. Overall, we’ve been really impressed with this photo blanket from My Picture. It’s soft, practical, and beautifully personal, making it a lovely addition to our living room and a perfect gift idea too.
