Review: popchips claim that these “chips” (aka crisps) taste better than baked crisps (aka cardboard) whilst still being a healthier option than fried crisps, and I have to say.. I agree. They are a little thicker than regular crisps and remind me of squished rice crispies, only made of potatoes instead of rice!
They sent us four different flavours to review; salt & pepper, original, sour cream & onion, and barbeque. I enjoyed all four flavours but I have to say barbeque was my favourite, closely followed by sour cream & onion – these two were really delicious.
The crisps are all very flavourful, not even the “original” flavoured crisps were as bland as regular ready salted crisps tend to be. The salt & pepper flavour is really quite peppery without being too much for your mouth to handle – really yummy.
As you can see, James snuck a couple to Georgie to see what she made of them, and they received the official Georgiana Seal of Approval!
James’s official opinion was “yummy” and I’d have to concur with that accurate, if brief, review. They have a really satisfying crunch to them and a nice texture in the mouth.
The only negative point about these are that they are quite expensive to buy. As individual packets the prices are comparable with other brands, especially as the bags are fairly generous; but I do wish you could buy multipacks of 6 at a better value price, as you can with other crisps. However, I don’t think this will stop us from buying them occasionally as a treat, as they were just so delicious and great for a not-too-naughty snack!
4 out of 5 stars for a product that I think will be finding it’s way back into our kitchen again sometime in the not-too-distant future.
