My Christmas present from my parents last year was a Wool Warehouse/Attic24 kit to make the Jolly Chunky Bag from the Attic24 blog.
I’ve had a spell of illness and been feeling stressed lately, so I’ve been turning to my crochet hook to pass the time while too sick to work or look after the kids, and to wind down my stress levels a bit. All this means my bag is already complete! I’m not a very fast crocheter so this is pretty impressive for me. I’ve been posting progress photos on Instagram and I thought I would share the completed bag here on my blog.

I just love the colours used in this bag, it is really cheerful! The buttons on the flowers add a nice touch and I’m really pleased with how it’s turned out. I used a size 5mm hook as suggested by Lucy on her instructions, and it’s given me a nice, strong, flexible (but not too stretchy!) bag.

I think I will use the bag for throwing things in to pop out of the house, or carrying my essentials around the house – it has plenty of space for my kindle, iPad, filofax, and a whole host of other things.

I have plenty of yarn left over and so I have promised Georgie a colourful bag of her very own to match Mummy’s. I think I will try a slightly smaller hook and less rows, to make a titchy preschooler sized version.

What do you think? I love it!
That bag is absolutely beautiful. I am completely jealous! x
