Sometime around the days she started crawling, Georgie started to resent having to lie (fairly) still on the changing mat to have her nappy or clothes changed. To combat this we have started letting her get dressed like a big girl – standing up on the floor or on our lap. However, you can’t really change a nappy when your baby is standing up bouncing about like some sort of Tigger impersonator!

Instead, James & I have discovered that pulling ridiculously silly faces (his preferred method) or singing ridiculous songs are enough to keep Georgie laughing instead of wriggling or screaming – in fact, the songs I make up as I whip off her trousers and get stuck in make James giggle as well, at the other end of the house – although he denies laughing at me afterwards!
Georgie’s favourite song from my ever expanding nappy change repertoire is “You are my Stinker”, set to the tune of “You are my Sunshine”, and it goes a little like this…
You are my stinker,
My little stinker.
You make a stinky,
every day!You only stink dear,
Because you poo dear.
So let’s wipe the poo poo,
Away!
