This year I decided to do something a little different, and I’ve created a free stitch-along for anyone who wants to enjoy some festive cross stitching this December.
Each day leading up to Christmas, I’ll be sharing a new page of my cross stitch pattern. By Christmas Day, you’ll have eight complete designs—each one sized perfectly for a 3-inch hoop and ideal for hanging on your Christmas tree.
All the supplies you’ll need, along with instructions and the full thread-colour key, can be found on the Advent Calendar page. I’ll be updating it daily throughout December as each new part is revealed.
There’s plenty of stitching to keep you busy, so if you’re not a speedy stitcher, don’t worry! You can always take advantage of the quiet days between Christmas and New Year to catch up at a relaxed pace.
If you don’t want to use 3-inch bamboo hoops, there’s another fun option: print your own display hoops! I’ve remixed a printable hoop design to include a backing piece that neatly hides the reverse of your stitching, with just enough space between the layers for your fabric to fold over.
