We recently bought a 3D printer – a Creality Ender-3 V3 KE – and we have been having a lot of fun with it.
Partly to begin to learn how to use 3D modelling apps, and partly to make something we will use, I designed and printed a set of photo booth props for Lydia’s upcoming end of (primary) school party. She had a great time helping me come up with ideas to design, and helping me choose the colours to paint them with.
I created three moustaches, two mouths, and eight different glasses or masks. Each one has a stick to hold them up to your face for the perfect pose.
We printed them in white PLA before painting them with acrylic paint markers and sealing them with a clear lacquer.
James has been printing all sorts of useful things around the house – I’ll have to blog all about it soon – and I also designed and printed personalised keyrings for each child in Lydia’s class with their name, the school name, and ‘Class of 2024’ on. We modelled & 3D printed some signs for them to hold up for the party Photo Booth as well – one that says ‘Class of 2024’ and another with the school name.
