Sudocrem care & protect

Review: When I heard that there was a new Sudocrem product out, I was looking forward to seeing what it was like. Lydia has started teething so she is suffering with some nappy rash as a result, and this seemed ideal to apply as a preventative measure.

The Sudocrem care & protect comes in a tube with a flip-top cap, so it’s easily opened & applied one handed – always great if you’re holding down a wriggly baby with the other hand! The cream looks & feels a bit like watered down Sudocrem and applies easily to the skin.

Unfortunately, it seemed pretty useless on Lydia’s poor bottom. I was happily slathering away with every nappy change whilst she was not-so-happily chomping on everything in sight to try and ease her obvious teething discomfort. The end result? A raging case of nappy rash, the worst I’ve ever seen on her little bottom.

After giving the new cream another go after we used more powerful nappy rash creams to get rid of the rash, we had the same result – no success preventing nappy rash at all, even when the teething seemed to ease a little. It just seems like the cream isn’t living up to what it’s promising with our little girl’s delicate skin.

Add to that the high price of £3.99 for such a small tube that doesn’t last too long, and we give this product 2 stars. For us, it just didn’t live up to the brand of Sudocrem, and we were definitely disappointed with this one.
