Disclosure: As Sea Life Ambassadors we have been given annual passes for the purpose of blogging about our visits to the centre.
We headed over to the Sea Life Centre in Birmingham to check out the Spooky Seas event they have on this half term – Halloween themed fun with facts about the spookiest sea creatures in the sea to discover around the centre.
The centre has been decorated to celebrate Halloween with pumpkins, cobwebs, cauldrons and spiders all over the place, and the girls loved pointing out all the decorations.
As always there is loads to see at the centre, and the girls have their particular favourites. The clownfish tanks and penguin area are always places that we dawdle our way through, and Georgie was delighted to see her favourite shark Zebedee swimming around the shark tank. We were really lucky to see so many of the creatures out and active – both the biggest octopuses were moving around the glass of their tanks, and Mo the giant sea turtle was swimming laps around the ocean tunnel.
The girls each had a Spooky Seas Trail sheet, which they filled in with different facts as we made our way around the centre. There were eerily glowing green signs on the walls with information about different sea creatures, and Georgie had to read each sign to find out the answers and earn their pop badges.
As well as doing the Spooky Seas trail and enjoying the halloween decorations, I treated the girls to a Junior Ranger pack each, and they really enjoyed running about spotting all the Junior Ranger signs on the tanks. There were lots of facts to discover and lots of places where they could get close up with their magnifying gizmo, which they loved!
As you can see the girls had a great time at the Sea Life centre – as they always do!
The Spooky Seas event is on until 31st October, so why not head down this weekend to check it out?
