My friend Sophie has a new blog called “Life As Mrs D” and today she has posted about a happier project called “100 Happy Days” that she is starting today. The idea of the project is to record something every day that makes you happy, to help you to notice & appreciate what makes you happy each day.

I thought this was a great idea, and I have seen a few gratitude projects like this floating about recently. Before now I’ve vaguely considered taking part, but today I decided to jump on board and join Sophie with this one.
There are loads of reported benefits for taking part in gratitude projects, and hopefully I will experience some of them. I particularly like the sound of increased optimism, determination & energy levels! Less depression and reduced stress levels sound great too.
I will be tweeting my photos with the #100happydays hashtag, and to help me keep track of them I am also going to record them with the Gratitude 365 journal app.
Here is the reasons I put for taking part in the 100 Happy Days project:
I want to see more beauty in the day to day life I lead with my family. We are buying a house so stressful times are ahead, hopefully this will help me to deal with those stresses and see the good things despite the mess, chaos & hard work ahead!
My first post is:

I won £100 worth of John Lewis vouchers with my Barny blog post!

What a lovely idea! I look forward to seeing your posts, but more importantly – Congrats on the £100 of vouchers!! Yay!! x
Hehe thanks, I’m very pleased – I will be able to treat myself to something nice for the new house! I want to make a little corner for myself for the living room with a desk and comfy chair and some nice bits, for work and blog time.
I signed up to do this and totally forgot that I was meant to start it yesterday! Things have been a bit hectic here! Going to start it tomorrow though. It sounds like such a great project that will enable me to see the beauty and happiness in everyday life when everything else is weighing me down. 🙂
Good luck with it! I’m hoping it will help us find a little bit of sunshine in the gloomiest of days 🙂
