Our February creations

As Georgie gets more creative, and her creations become more recognisable, I thought it would be great to blog each month about what she has made. Some of these projects were done at playgroup, some at home on her own with very little guidance, and some with me helping her with each step or letting her know what to do next.

cBeebies Art Mag

We bought the cBeebies art mag for the first time in February, and Georgie adored it instantly. A lovely mix of creative activities, with plenty of colouring, sticking, tracing outlines, as well as lots of things to make.

Georgie really loved the foam animals we made together from the kit on the front of the mag, and she was particularly proud of her valentines day “love bug” card for her Daddy. The cover of the magazine was snipped up to create a lovely farm which Georgie enjoyed playing with, although I’m not sure why the tractor had to be driving in the sky above the barn!

We have already bought the March edition of the magazine, and have plenty more to do from the February mag, so look forward to more projects from cBeebies Art Mag, we are definitely fans!

Our other creations

We have also been building things with duplo, doing lots of baking, finger painting at playgroup, experimenting with water and our aquadoodle mat, making winter scenes with stickers & cotton wool, sticking, and doing a bit of fun painting too. We’ve had quite a creative month, I think.

Lydia is napping most afternoons at the moment, so I like to take that time to do something with Georgie. As she is often starting to flag after lunch she needs something quiet to do, so I like to sit with her and do this kind of activity with her.

I’m thinking about making this into a monthly linky to encourage other parents & kids to be creative and to keep a record of all the little artworks your children make – whether big or small, a bit slap-dash or immaculately constructed. Would anybody be interested?
