A couple of weeks ago the four of us got up far too early for a Saturday morning and jumped in the car to head South to spend the day at BlogOn Kids.
I’ve been helping out at the BlogOn events for years now and especially with the Toy Awards, which have been a huge part of the autumn/winter events since they began in 2017. Poor James has been equally roped in by me, as a driver, child entertainer, general fetch & carrier, and tech guru – as needed!

This year, since the events now welcome kids of all ages, all four of us were there and we got the girls helping out too. Myself and the girls did get a chance to look around the event together while we left James looking after the toy awards – and I know Lydia & Georgie had a great time going around on their own trying out lots of different products and speaking to brands.
The girls were actually super helpful and earned their goodie bags and the various prizes we took home after James & I bought numerous raffle and tombola tickets. The money raised goes to great causes & Lydia was delighted to take her very own Hope Bear from the toy awards raffle after eying it up all day as she helped out with the awards.

Some of the products that stood out to the girls & I as we looked around the even were the Playmobil pirate ship that Lydia coveted (and is getting for Christmas thanks to the raffle!), the Squishmallow Take4 card game that looked fun, the Boppi circular jigsaws (I was drooling over their wooden marble runs too while the girls were busy puzzling), the CrystalArt Disney100 range, and KAI the Artificial Intelligence robot. I know they had a great time in the Gel Blaster room too, while James and I were busy helping people vote for their favourite toys.

For the first time ever BlogOn had live birds at the event which all four of us got kind of giddy over – I love birds of prey, so having Berkshire Birds of Prey there letting the kids get hands on with their birds was a fantastic addition to the day. Georgie & Lydia were delighted to come home with little handler certificates.

I’ve been dealing with my worsened physical and mental health issues since lockdown, but it was great to get back out there and get back into blogging recently too, and seeing old blogger friends at BlogOn definitely helped me feel like my missing spark is back – or at least it mostly is! No matter how tiring it was or how bad my head was the next day, it was worth it and I look forward to the next one we get to attend.
