February is here – the month of love – with Valentine’s Day just around the corner!
Today I’m sharing seven quick and easy free cross stitch patterns, perfect for small gifts or handmade Valentine’s Day cards for your loved ones.

I’ve created a mix of designs, including both traditional styles and some more nerdy options too.
Each design fits a 3″ hoop or card aperture when stitched on 14-count Aida (or 28-count evenweave). Some patterns include backstitch, while others don’t — and if a design does have backstitch, you’re always welcome to skip it if you prefer.

Every pattern PDF includes:
- A digital mockup of the finished design
- A colour chart and a black & white chart
- A separate page with the key and stitching instructions
Two of the patterns are designed for variegated thread, and one includes partial stitches. For each of these, I’ve also provided a simpler version – using solid colours only, or full stitches in the case of the I <3 U pattern.

I hope you enjoy stitching these little designs as much as I enjoyed creating them. Wishing you a very happy Valentine’s Day, and I hope you’re able to spend it with the people you love (and maybe squeeze in a little stitching time too!).
