The ‘firsts’ have been coming thick and fast lately, and it seems like Georgie is changing right before our eyes. Just in the last few months her personality has grown so much and she has turned into an incredibly inquisitive and very mischievous baby girl. It won’t be long until she is walking, and she has started to try to wriggle off our laps when we are out & about, so we decided to buy her some shoes to protect her feet when we’re out.
My grandparents (on my mother’s side) gave Georgie a Clarks voucher for Christmas, for her “first pair of shoes” and so after asking the wonderful community of people on twitter for advice, we headed to the branch at Mothercare World at Merry Hill. I have to say, the woman who helped us out was really nice and helpful, and really knew her stuff, so I am really pleased we went.

Since Georgie loves to pull herself up and walk along the edges of everything, she told us that we would be best off with ‘cruising’ stage shoes, and measured Georgie’s feet then talked us through their styles. Before long Georgie was standing holding my hand staring at her feet in utter confusion! The assistant declared that she was being “such a good girl” and of course she promptly burst into tears, oops. We chose the Ida Chic shoes and are really pleased with them.
We had the “first shoes” experience, which was actually really nice – it is a quite touching moment when your little baby get’s their first shoes! We were presented with an informative (& rather adorable) book, growing record card, height chart, and a card with a Polaroid photo of her wearing her shoes, with her name, first shoe size & the date written inside.

Also, I think they came in what has to be the cutest shoebox I have ever seen in my life!
