Georgie is a good sleeper. She stays up quite late but regularly sleeps 11 or 12 hours once she is down for the night, without waking up, in addition to one or two decent naps a day. If she is woken up early (either in the morning or from a nap) she is whiny & grumpy, and generally does not approve at all. Even when she was a tiny baby she would sleep for hours & hours, and then cluster feed for the 6 or 7 hours she was awake, before going back to sleep for another 18 hours.
Ever since Georgie learnt to roll over from her back to her front (I can believe that was only three & a half months ago – and she wasn’t even crawling yet!) her preferred sleeping position has changed from a spread-eagled starfish to one that is rather adorable – on her belly with her legs tucked up under her, and her bum sticking up in the air!

She falls asleep on my lap, after her last feed, and then is carried up to bed and put down in her cot on her back. Then, every night without fail, she turns over onto her belly at some point of the night, and ends up with her bum pointing to the ceiling by morning.

Something quite funny happened today when she was having a nap on my lap following her mid morning feed. She woke up a bit and then sleepily looked at me with a smile, before wriggling around from being snuggled against me to face down on my lap, so that she was curled up on her tummy – it was a little bit ridiculous looking, but she slept like that for quite a while, despite slowly slipping headfirst further & further off my lap!

How does your little one sleep? Do they favour any particular position?
Ali is a great sleeper. I feel so lucky for that!
His favourite position is the head to one side, both arms up (sometime one up one down) and knees up. He has also now learned how to turn his sheep on, so is very proud of himself and will look up at us when he goes down into his cot and will smile whilst pressing the button.
He goes down at about 9pm and sleeps till 9am then plays for an hour in his cot. He wakes up, wriggles himself to the top and starts grabbing his toys to wave around. It's very cute!
I also feel like a proud mumma cos he's been sleeping through since the new year which is 4 months old, but only 1 month corrected 🙂 Since then he has never woken up during the night for more than 5 minutes, and has never needed settling down when he wakes up. Here's hoping this continues!
