Learning to knit – a goal for 2015

Home Getting Crafty Learning to knit – a goal for 2015

I’ve been enjoying crochet for a few years now, and even blogged about what you need to get started with the hobby – my crochet starter kit. Knitting, however, has always been beyond me. I have tried to learn to knit a few times with very little success, but I am determined to give it one last good go this year and crack it.

At Blog On MOSI I entered a competition from Black Sheep Wools to go to one of their workshops – and I won! Unfortunately, I was unable to attend any of the workshops due to childcare, travel, and other commitments getting in the way. I was really disappointed but happily they were willing to redraw so another blogger will be enjoying a workshop instead – and they were kind enough to send me a little package of bits & pieces to get me started knitting.

I have used Stylecraft Special DK before for my Attic 24 chunky bag crochet project, and I really liked it – so I’m delighted to have some more to add to my stash, ready to attempt the mysterious skill that is knitting. This How to Knit book, by Tina Barrett, looks perfect for terrified beginners like me!
