A busy week! – Little Loves

Home Chit Chat A busy week! – Little Loves

It’s been a bit of a hectic week this week – I’ve been working a lot, and been busy with the kids too.

Read

This week I have read the Cranberry Inn series by Beth Ehemann which was really enjoyable – all three romantic fiction books are free on Kindle Unlimited and so they did cost me a penny extra to read. They tell the story of Brody and Kacie – an ice hockey player and a single mother of two who meet during to a freak storm – over two books and one novella. I’m now halfway through Cement Heart which is by the same author, telling the tale of some of the characters from the Cranberry Inn books.

Watched

I discovered the 100 Code tv show on Now TV this week – it is a Sky Atlantic one currently showing weekly so I have to wait a week to watch each episode, boo hiss! There are three on there so far and I’m loving it so far – Dominic Monaghan plays a cop who has moved from New York to Stockholm to pursue a serial killer.

Dresses

James picked up these dresses for the girls from TK Maxx this week – we have a spring wedding to go to this year and as long as Lydia doesn’t grow absolutely loads between then and now these will be perfect!

Heard

This week I’ve been mostly listening to music as I work or get on with things – my favourite album for chilled out background music is one I got a few years ago called “Keep Calm and Relax” which has lots of lovely songs on that don’t invade my brain or distract me when I’m working!

Made

On Wednesday I baked some chocolate cupcakes which only lasted until the end of the day – a play date after school with parents for coffee & a natter meant that they were gobbled up pretty quick, leaving just four – the perfect number for pudding after dinner!

I haven’t made much progress on my blanket this week as I have been busy working and on Thursday I had a bad migraine that wiped me out for the day and left me feeling pretty awful on Friday, too.

Lydia and I made a glitter Minnie Mouse picture together from a kit that we gave her for Christmas. It was a lot of fun and only took about 10 minutes with the little hand vac to clean up after!

Minnie Mouse

and lastly…

Georgie had her first play date at a school friend’s house on Thursday which was lovely and caused much excitement, and I went into the classroom on Friday morning to play with Georgie & her friends. It was a lot of fun and I will try to manage as many as I can, although sometimes I have to use my precious Lydia free time to work instead.

We went to see the stage show of the Snowman yesterday which was wonderful – the girls were completely captivated! Afterwards we headed to All Bar One for lunch, which everyone enjoyed very much. Mmmmm. It was a lovely day that unfortunately ended badly as our car got vandalised again last night. It is really annoying that this keeps happening to cars in our area – why on earth do people think it is fun to smash wing mirrors?!

I hope you’re having a great weekend!

  1. Those dresses are adorable. I am loving the glitter picture too, Molly did her own glitter pictures last week, think she really enjoyed it as she sat doing it for ages. Although your kit looks much neater than our ones as she requested that I draw all the pictures and paint the glue on so she could sprinkle the glitter. I will look out for one of those kits next time.

  2. Oh your girls look beautiful in their dresses! i love the glitter picture, my girls would love to do one I will have to keep my eye out for one.
