As part of our trip to Cornwall for our summer holiday, we visited the Camel Creek Adventure Park near Wadebridge. The girls loved it; they got to spend an entire day climbing, sliding, and going on lots of rides!

The first ride the girls wanted to go on was a little carousel which they ended up going on again later on. They love these sorts of rides so they made a beeline for it as soon as they saw it! They went on a lot of the rides throughout the day and enjoyed every single one.
Camel Creek has a great toddler area called “Swampy and Dina Land” which is home to a great selection of little kiddy rides. Georgie and Lydia went on most of them together and Lydia went on Swampy’s Drop by herself – she kicked James out of the queue line saying that she was going to go on her own, much to the amusement of the ride operator and everyone else queuing to go on!
The little kid area includes a junior climbing wall and mini soft play area, as well as a smaller version of the park megaslide and all the rides. There is also a fish & chip shop, snack outlet and a toilet block.
We stopped for lunch at the Treasure Island Galley which serves things like paninis, pasties and jacket potatoes. The kids had £4.95 lunch boxes – each one had a ham/cheese roll, a carton of juice, crisps, yoghurt and piece of fruit. James and I both opted for a £6.95 pasty meal deal which included wedges and a box of juice as well as our chosen pasty, and we sat outside in the sunshine on a picnic bench.
Georgie quickly discovered a craft area next to the cafe, and the girls sat down to make a “mermaid necklace” each. I was impressed that the supplies for their craft area all come from the Cornwall Scrap Store – making it a fun way to reuse & recycle the unwanted materials.
After lunch we explored the rest of the park, going on lots more of the rides, meeting (and feeding!) lots of animals, and enjoying all the different attractions. SO many slides, all over the park!
We stopped in the Dragon’s Kingdom area for the girls to enjoy the soft play (while James and I enjoyed a coffee each… and I managed to tip mine all over my lap, thankfully it had cooled down a fair bit by then), and then headed down to the water rides to finish the day… via the ice cream kiosk. I do love a bit of Kelly’s mint choc chip ice cream!
The water rides were a great way to end the day, with the girls changing clothes straight after the log flume! We made our way back up to the entrance of the park via several of the slides and sand pits, before exiting through the gift shop – which is actually quite reasonably priced. The girls chose a few small souvenirs each and we headed back to Grandma & Grandad’s house tired but happy.
Overall we were impressed by Camel Creek Adventure Park. It was really clean and tidy, the staff were really helpful and kind to the children, and the girls enjoyed every minute of their day. The park is well laid out and the girls enjoyed visiting the animals between rides. Several of the rides and play areas have had awnings constructed over them which makes more of the park weather proof for rainy days.
The longest we had to queue was around half an hour – most of the time it was only one or two rotations of the ride before the girls got to clamber aboard, especially in the toddler area. I definitely recommend it to families visiting Cornwall as a good day out, especially on non beach weather days.
