Review: These Harry Potter surprise capsules are really fun – the remind me of LOL dolls, but for Harry Potter fans! Inside each Hogwarts Crest shaped capsule you get a character and 3 accessories, as well as two clues to the identity of your mystery person.

There are 10 characters to collect, including Harry, Ron, Hermione, Draco, Snape, and more. Each one comes with a wand and three accessories that suit their personalities perfectly – you can even find a tiny Hedwig and Ginny’s adorable pink Pygmy Puff Arnold.

There are four steps to opening the magical capsule; first you remove the shrink wrapping to reveal the Hogwarts Crest, then open up sections 1 and 2 to find clues to the mystery character inside. Once you have done your best to work it out, pull out all the parcels inside the capsule, and tear them open to reveal your character and their mini accessories.

We were sent two of these mystery capsules to open up, and Lydia was super excited about it! She has only just begun to get into the magical world of Harry Potter, so she doesn’t quite know the ins and out of who everyone is yet. Her best friend is obsessed with it, and so Lydia is already planning to give one of the characters to her once they are back to school!

The clues are revealed by adding heat (rubbing your finger across the clue works) or dipping them in water – once you know the Hogwarts house and magic spell incantation you can have a go at guessing which character you have before you open it up.

Can you guess who these clues point to?

I’ve filmed a little unboxing video to show Lydia’s reactions as she opened them, so check that out:

Each capsule we opened had five little parcels to open. I was really impressed with the little details on the paper wrappings, they felt like you were opening some magical owl post. The largest parcel, containing the character, is in a different wrapper to the rest, so you know to leave it until last – it is more exciting that way, obviously.

Inside our two capsules, we found Ron Weasley and Draco Malfoy, along with their wands & various accessories.

Ron came with a little potion bottle of liquid luck, his pet rat Scabbers, and the Monster Book of Monsters – Lydia was entertained by the fact you can see the little tongue inside the book.

Malfoy came with a cauldron, an owl, and the Hand of Glory he got from Borgin and Burkes. The wands slot into the characters hands which is great.

You also get a little collectors guide, so you can tick off which characters you have collected, and see who else there is to find. There’s even a rare mystery character to hunt down, which got Lydia excited.

These characters are really cute and Lydia already wants to get some more; she’d really like to find Luna Lovegood for herself and Hermione for her best friend! The accessories are pretty adorable too, I love the little magical creatures.

Harry Potter Magical Capsules will be in Tescos and toy stores soon, so keep an eye out for these fun mystery collectibles.
