A sneak peek into Georgiana’s stocking!

Home Chit Chat A sneak peek into Georgiana’s stocking!

I have been ridiculously organised with Christmas this year (I think it’s the nesting impulse kicking in again!) and as such we are due to complete the last of our Christmas shopping this weekend, and begin writing our Christmas cards too! Almost everything is wrapped already, how crazy am I?!

I’ve been making mental notes for about 6 months for Georgie’s Christmas, and picking up little things here & there for a while. Nothing we’ve picked has been very expensive, and most of it is things we’ve been wanting her to have for a while, but have just delayed handing over till Christmas. The poor kid has hardly gotten any new toys for months!

As such, I can give you an early sneak peek into what Santa will be delivering to Georgie’s room this year. Thankfully she doesn’t read my blog, so this won’t give the game away! Here are a few of the things Santa has in store for my little girls stocking…

Two Little Libraries: Little Charley Bear* (£3.69) & Thomas & Friends* (£3.59). These are both favoured TV shows and Georgie is still as much of a bookworm as ever! Little library sets are brilliant for sticking in the change bag when you’re going visiting, and are small enough to pop in the back of the pushchair to keep madam amused while out and about. At 19 months she hasn’t shown any signs of growing out of teeny tiny books yet so I figured it would be safe to pop a few sets into her stocking. We bagged a deal with amazon family that pretty much made one of the sets free too, bonus!

These Ikea baskets of fruit (9 pieces – £7) and vegetables (14 pieces – £7) are brilliant! They have some at the local children’s centre and Georgie loves to play with them whenever they bring them out, so I thought we should get her some of her own. The whole thing is made from fabric, which I think is just so much nicer than plastic to play with. They have the bonus of being washable on a standard 40 degree wash too. Ikea do some other sets as well, including salmon and breakfast foods, but I think these are definitely the nicest. The quality seems really good too, they should last years.

We picked up a second-hand That’s Not My Santa…* (£4.49 on amazon) book when we visited Barter Books up in Northumberland a few months ago, and have been saving it for Christmas morning, so it has been wrapped up to go with her stocking. Georgie has lots of books from this range, and absolutely adores them. Santa will be joining Reindeer and Penguin in her Christmas collection!

The bath boats are something I think she will love – she adores having long baths with lots of toys these days, and it is actually quite hard to find really simple bath toys like these! Squirters are everywhere but she has loads already, so I spent ages looking in the shops for little basic boats before spotting these First Steps Bathtime Boats* (£3.37) on amazon.

We picked up the Buzzing Brains Baby’s Hammer (currently £4 in the half price sale) at Kiddicare when we visited the new store at Merry Hill. We thought it was great fun, and she has to have some sort of noisy plastic junk in her stocking, right? When you bash things with this hammer, the light on the top flashes on and off, complete with some very silly sound effects. The Buzzing Brains range all seems to be really good value and we were very impressed with the quality of the toys in the store. There are a few more toys from the range going under the tree as well, lucky little madam.

Lastly, I figured that Georgie was old enough for an edible treat from Santa this year, and so picked up one of these Tiddly Pots of caramel chocolate buttons from Hotel Chocolat when we were in the store a few weeks ago. I can’t find them on the website so you’ll have to make your way to a branch to find them if you want to pick up a pot! I thought they looked great because we’ll be able to pop the lid back on and ration them throughout the morning, which will hopefully spread out the ensuing sugar rush!

And here it is, all together, and wrapped and ready to go! I’m so pleased I don’t have to have any late minute panics this year, the pregnancy is making me more tired each day and I have been suffering from one or two of the winter bugs that are doing the rounds, so all I really want to do for the month of December is curl up with my little girl and a blanket, and play!

If you’re struggling to find stocking ideas for your own toddler I hope this post has given you some ideas! I think I will have a very happy little girl on my hands on Christmas morning 🙂

  1. Oh, I had a little library of Thomas books just like that for my son. He’s now 15! Happy memories. Lovely post.
