If you have young children and want to take them down to Cornwall for a holiday, then Coombe Mill is the place to go. Based near St Breward, Coombe Mill is a real working farm where kids can join in with the morning feed run, play on the fab play areas, and see loads of interesting animals up close.
While we were down in Cornwall visiting my parents we popped over to meet Fiona who I have been chatting to on twitter for a while now, and to have a nose around the farm – Fiona was kind enough to show us around and even fed us yummy biscuits fresh out the oven! Georgie enjoyed seeing the wide variety of different animals (including deer!) and we even managed a quick play on the pirate ship play area before we had to take our grumpy little madam back to Mum & Dads for lunch and a long nap.
If you’re looking for a UK break with your kids then this place is perfect – we were really impressed. The accommodation is great, and the whole place is tailored to helping kids have great fun and learn about animals & nature. Plus, it’s close to the beach – what more could you want?!
Fiona (who is lovely, by the way) maintains a very active blog over at their website, and there is loads of info about the farm & the accommodation available on the site too – you should definitely check it out if you’re looking for somewhere a bit different to take your kids.
Here are some photos from our tour around the farm…

Zoe it was a pleasure having you visit and thank you so much for the lovely write up and vote of confidence in our holidays. I hope you will stop by and see us again if you are down in the summer.
No problem, thanks for taking the time to show us around! We’re back down in August so we’ll have to pop over and let Georgie have a run around the play areas, hopefully she’ll be in a better mood!
Hahaha….I love the mini tricycle racing through puddles! 😀
A friend of mine recently took her 5 to Coombe Mill on holiday and it was lovely to see that she had nothing but praise and had an excellent time 🙂
I wish we could go for a stay but it is so close to Mum & Dads house that it would be ridiculous!
@graken1 delighted you are coming. A lovely review of Coombe Mill here from @zoecorkhill out today
@coombemill @zoecorkhill I’m sorry I couldn’t get past fresh baked biscuits!!!!
