After a hectic jubilee weekend and a week of illness (sorry to my twitter followers for all my moaning!) it has been lovely to have a nice peaceful weekend with James helping me to look after Georgie and letting me go back to bed when I want! In fact, I spent quite a bit of time in bed yesterday with a migraine, not much fun.
Today we headed over to my mother in law’s house to let the dogs out while she was at a dog show. There were a couple of her friends dogs there too so including those and our Homily there were NINE dogs! It was a good thing that my head had finally stopped hurting like crazy by the time we got there.
We sat out in the sun and had a nice picnic (healthy food for Georgie and naughty KFC for us!) on the patio with the dogs going bonkers watching us from the fenced off lawn. Georgie couldn’t seem to resist posting bits of picnic through the fence to them!
After the food was finished the dogs did a wonderful job hoovering up the crumbs while Georgie wandered about enjoying one of the Peter Rabbit Organics puréed fruit pouches we won in the baby show treasure hunt. It was the first time she has had a fruit pouch and I must admit I was a little impressed by the fact she immediately worked out how to suck/squeeze the fruit out – I had been considering buying one of these neat spoons so we could keep a few pouches in the changing bag for going out & about but we definitely don’t need one of those!
A bit of playtime then it was off home for a lazy afternoon. I have plenty of things to do this week so it’s nice to have a few “days off” before I get to the to-do list thats full of housework & baking!
