It’s not long now until my little monster turns one (just 5 weeks today!) and so we have been hitting the NCT Nearly New Sales in search of some bargains – both for her 12-18 month wardrobe and for first birthday presents! She grows like a weed in the upward direction so I fully expect her 9-12 trousers to go from ‘just right’ to ‘too short’ in the alarmingly near future!
We visited the Stafford NCT sale a few weeks ago, and the Solihull one on Saturday. After buying pretty much enough toys for her birthday at the Stafford sale, we were mostly only interested in clothes the second time around. We did pick up a few extra gifts though, along with a ride on toy and a baby swing seat for the TP swing my parents are generously giving her for her birthday… well, we couldn’t be expected to leave the sale without a little something for her birthday, at least, could we?! 😛

I got a really good pile of good quality clothes at reasonable prices, and some 12-18 month sleeping bags too which we are in desperate need of, so I am a happy shopper. Almost all of the clothes and sleeping bags are really nice brands too – a nice side effect of visiting an NCT sale in a well off area! We even picked up a super cute swimming costume in preparation for our summer holiday in Cornwall in July, I can’t wait to see her in it. I am going to look into taking her swimming in the local pool soon, now the weather is getting nicer.

We tend to buy almost all of Georgie’s clothes either second-hand from sales such as these, or from eBay. Very rarely do we buy baby clothes or toys brand new – and then usually only ever from George at Asda or in the sales! I can’t believe how much some shops charge for such small clothing – we could never afford to kit her out in a brand new wardrobe several times a year! Second hand baby clothes are usually in great condition too, as they are worn for such a short period of time before they are sold on.
We decided to let her have the ride on toy straight away as a treat for being such a good girl all day (we dragged her around Solihull town centre for a few hours after the sale – it was a long day for her!), and she seems to really love it. She has figured out how to move it on her own… but unfortunately only in reverse!

My favourite item from the weekends haul has to be this Eeyore romper suit, I just couldn’t resist! It is in perfect condition and Georgie looks completely adorable in it…
