Disclosure: I was sent a bag of gifts for the purpose of this blog post.
On Saturday afternoon we are heading to Digbeth to visit the Etsy Made Local event organised by IDEAS Birmingham, a team of locally based Etsy sellers.
The team over at IDEAS Birmingham have kindly sent me some goodies ahead of the event so that I can share them online to help promote the event and give my readers a sneak peek of the kinds of unique products you’ll be able to purchase if you go.
As well as some Etsy Made Local / IDEAS Birmingham merchandise including a lovely bag, and a notebook & pencil, I was sent the following gifts:
These Blueberry Muffin scented tea lights smell absolutely divine and were so nicely packaged. The box is beautiful – one to be kept for trinkets I think, once the candles are long gone – and this would make a lovely gift this Christmas for any candle lover.
These gamer themed coasters made from scrabble tiles are so much fun! They have cork on the underside to protect your surfaces and are just the right size for a mug. The little wooden game controller pin is really cute and definitely perfect for me.
A brooch and hair grip by Mythillogical
The brooch features their needled felted Miss Havisham hamster – she has a little veil and bouquet and is really unique. The hair grip is from their “cute as a button” range and is very sweet – they have some fantastic animal button designs in the shop at the moment and I might have to get myself a pair of the adorable panda earrings!
Chale Designs create “modern boho products inspired by Africa” and these Christmas gift tags and card are gorgeous – all bright colours and fabulous patterns. I love the Christmas jewellery they have in their shop at the moment.
This seller uses Liberty Art fabric to make beautiful cushion covers, tote bags, and cosmetic pouches. These buttons are really pretty and I’m going to pop them in my sewing box to use later on – I think they’d be perfect on a purple crochet bag.
I also got some discount vouchers from Firefly Handmade Creations who makes soy wax melts – so I’ll definitely be using that, as I use a warmer in my office, and Honeypot Dolls who make some weird & wonderful dolls amongst other sewn items.
Etsy Made Local is on Friday 30th November from 12pm til 8pm and Saturday 1st December from 11am til 5pm, at the Custard Factory, Gibb Street, B9 4AA.
There is loads of information about the event, and the sellers who will be there with their handmade products, over on their website so do head over and check that out. On Saturday, there will be free face painting for customers from 12pm til 4pm, and free kids activities featuring the rather adorable Birminghamster.
