What ‘type’ of typer are you? That is the question Microsoft are trying to help people answer with their #GBTypeOff tour…
You can take their handy quiz online, or visit them at one of their tour locations to take a look at their different keyboards, chat to them about the wonders of typing, and find out what kind of typist you are. We headed over to the Wednesbury PC World store on Saturday to check out the tour, and their extremely cool VW Campervan, which I was very jealous of!
Microsoft have divided up the nation into X different typist styles. These are: Carefree, Speedy, Casual, Perfect, and Crazy!
Naturally, I am the PERFECT type 😉
Once you have completed the test, and found out what type of typist you are, Mircrosoft then recommend what sort of keyboard you should be using. According to Microsoft, I should be using an ergonomic keyboard – either a Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop keyboard with weird split keyboard and a strange looking mouse, or the Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 which has lots of extra fancy looking buttons.
James also took the test and Microsoft declared him to be the Speedy type.
Everyone that visits the van and takes the test gets to go home with a free mug and badge declaring what type you are. Georgie managed to charm them into giving her a full set of the badges, of course. She does like to bash away at my keyboard, but it doesn’t make a lot of sense.
If you are in their area this weekend why not pop by and check them out? They are visiting Teeside today, Glasgow tomorrow, and Edinburgh on Sunday. See the details & find out more about the tour here.
We have kindly been given a couple of keyboards by Microsoft – one to review & one to giveaway, so look out for those in the near future! I’ll be testing out the split keyboard the quiz recommended for me, so I am interested to see how I get along with that next week.
