Happy New Year!

Home Chit Chat Happy New Year!

So 2012 is nearly over, and tomorrow we will wake up in a New Year. I’m afraid I’m not one for resolutions, as I tend to just try to stick to a certain set of life ideals/wishes rather than try to make random promises once a year!

Christmas Mosaic 2012

2012 has been a fairly calm but great year for us; we celebrated Georgie’s first birthday, James started an amazing new job which he loves, I started volunteering as a breast feeding buddy, we went on a few trips to visit family, and we got to announce the news that I’m pregnant with our second child!

There have been a few downs to go with our ups, admittedly – a few family dramas, seeing James suffer through a job he was beginning to hate, and me being quite ill in my first few trimesters! The news of my complete placenta praevia (which is so far proving to be persistent) was pretty crap too, but to be honest it could have been a lot worse.

I am really looking forward to 2013, as I’m hoping it will be another good year for us. I find it hard to believe my baby girl will be turning two in the first half of the year, and that our family of 3 is becoming one of 4. Never mind the fact we are planning to get a second dog as well! Also, my big brother is getting married in 2013, and I officially get a new sister!

I’m not about to bury my head in the sand… I know the year is going to be a challenging one with a newborn baby and a toddler on my hands. Saying that though, I absolutely love being a mum and nothing I have ever done in my life has ever come as naturally to me as filling that role of Mama to my little girl. Even though 2012 has been a fairly quiet year for us I have loved every second of being at home, just being a Mum. Here’s to twice the fun in 2013!

  1. Happy New Year to you and your family. One to two is hard but wonderful. Enjoy the precious time you have left with your only child as there will be times later that you’ll wish you’d relished it more. Good luck and enjoy x
