Life Lately: April 2018

We started April off with a busy Easter holiday, with some fun local day trips including a visit to the Sea Life Centre, Hatton Adventure Farm, and even a trip to the Kingfisher Shopping Centre to take part in the Spring themed Nature Trail which the girls enjoyed… and I finally found the Harry Potter cushion I wanted in the Redditch Primark too, yay!

We spent most of the second week of our holiday in Cornwall staying with my parents, and the girls enjoyed lots of quality Grandma and Grandad time. We visited the Otter Sanctuary which is a firm favourite of our girls, and had lunch with some old friends which was a really great chance to catch up – we even had some sunshine for an unexpected afternoon at the beach.

Then it was back to school with a bit of a bump, but with lots of birthday parties to go to for the kids, including Georgie’s… a few days early.

I’ve been reading…

The House of Hopes and Dreams by Trisha Ashley came out in April and I really enjoyed it – I loved all the bits about creating stained glass windows, it was a little peek into that world which I know nothing about.

I saw an ad on Facebook for The Gender Game series by Bella Forrest and ended up reading all of it, followed by the sequel The Girl of Dared to Think series. All of her books are available on Kindle Unlimited so I was able to read them all one after another.. once I’d read those I moved onto her A Shade of Vampire series, including ‘spin off’ series A Shade of Dragon and A Shade of Kiev.

I’ve been watching…

I’ve been enjoying some TV series while I work, including binging Riverdale on Netflix, along with the catching up with the latest episodes of Beyond and Jane The Virgin.

Westworld is back and it is as confusing as ever! Brilliant, but utterly confounding. I’ve no idea what order half of what is going on happens in at all.

I’ve been listening to…

I haven’t really been listening to many audiobooks in April, although I did switch between listening to The House of Hopes and Dreams and reading it on my Kindle depending on what I was doing.

As far as music goes, I’ve been listening to some random soundtrack playlists, and the Hamilton album.

I’ve been playing…

I got a game a friend recommended to me for the Nintendo Switch and had some fun playing that – it’s called Cat Quest and you are a cute but deadly adventure cat, on a quest to rid the world of dragons.

Month in a Minute

So there you have it – my April in a nutshell. I love this months video! It seems ages ago now, even though it was just last month. I hope everyone else had a good Easter break too.
