Raa Raa the Noisy Lion

Home Chit Chat Raa Raa the Noisy Lion

Although we do try to avoid using the “electronic babysitter”, sometimes the temptation of a ten minute cbeebies break can’t be denied – if only to keep the scamp out of mischief while I whiz around the room tidying up the toys or swapping the laundry over.

A lot of stuff on the cbeebies channel has me left with a bewildered expression on my face, or is a bit too complicated for Georgie to enjoy. We have, however, recently discovered Raa Raa the Noisy Lion which is really adorable and fun. Georgie really loves her 10 minute Raa Raa fix each day (it’s pretty much the only tv she watches, apart from the occasional thing upstairs off one of our kiddy dvds), and she gets super excited & starts dancing when the theme tune is playing.

In fact, she loves the theme song so much that James and I now have it memorised, and it can turn tears into a giant smile by the time you get to the second line…

Raa Raa! You are!
A noisy little lion!
Raa Raa! You are!
Louder than, them all!
In the cubby-buggy – cubby-buggy hear me call!
In the jingly, jangly, jungle, the noisy lion roars.
In the jingly, jangly, jungle, with my friends and yours!
Huffty, Topsy, Crocky.
Raa Raa!
Zebby, Ooo Ooo, Raa Raa!
Raa Raa!
It’s the jingly, jangly, jungle noise!
Raa Raa!
It’s the jingly, jangly, jungle noise!
Raa Raa!

I did an amazon order recently, and slipped the Raa Raa The Noisy Lion: Little Library* into the basket as a little treat for my little girl… for only £2.49 these are a real bargain and were a big hit when they arrived in the post yesterday! There are 6 little books, one for each of the characters in the show. It’s actually really nice – each book introduces the character with a few facts, and then when you turn them over they turn into a little jigsaw.

Reading about Crocky

With her first birthday coming up, it’s not hard to choose a few presents for her given her newfound adoration of Raa Raa and his friends – we have the dvd* on pre-order and have ordered both ladybird board books (Raa Raa’s Quiet Time* & Raa Raa Finds His Roar*) to go with it. My Mum, who is quite possibly the world’s best grandmother, is even knitting Georgie her very own Raa Raa. 🙂

As a bonus, Raa Raa is an awful lot better to put up with watching over & over than Baby Jake which is just plain FREAKY! I don’t think I could have coped if she became obsessed with that!
