Rating: (4/5 stars) Review: Lydia really enjoys jigsaw puzzles at the moment, so she was delighted when toysandbears.com sent us this Barbie Glitter Puzzle to review! This 108 piece puzzle is suitable for ages four to twelve, so perfect for Lydia, who will be eight in February. The puzzle features two Barbies lying down together in cool clothes with shades on, surrounded by glitter, graphics, and a message “follow your heart”. Included in this glittery puzzle is a small sheet of sticky gems, so that you can decorate the puzzle after you have put it together, which is a fun little addition – that makes it even more sparkly when it’s all done! Lydia started out, as always, by sorting out the edge pieces to give her a good starting place. She liked the pink patterned back of the pieces – definitely more fun than a blank back, and you could always try and complete the jigsaw upside down for an extra challenge… apparently I used to do this with some of my puzzles as a child. It didn’t take her long before she was starting to fill in the puzzle. She did run into a few issues getting the pieces to slot together at times – I think it could have been a little better cut, but it didn’t bother her too much. Lydia really enjoyed the extra activity of decorating the puzzle with extra gems at the end, and was careful not to stick any on the edges of pieces. She had a great time choosing where to put them, and matching them up to the little flares of light on the picture. As you can tell, she was very proud of herself when it was all complete! The whole puzzle glitters in the light which creates a pretty effect. I do like this puzzle although the quality could be better. Lydia really enjoyed it and it will definitely be kept in her puzzle collection for quite a while; she loves to put her favourites together fairly regularly. The gems seem to be pretty well stuck on so hopefully they won’t fall off and damage the top layer of the jigsaw. We give the Barbie Glitter Puzzle 4 stars.
