Review: It is Batman Day and to celebrate we have been sent this fab DC Super Friends Batman toy for our little Batgirl Lydia to play with.
This Interactive Power Punch Batman is a fun soft toy with a few extras – when you press the bat symbol on his chest his eyes light up and he speaks aloud, and when you punch something with his right fist (or squeeze it) he makes punching sound effects.
“The joker doesn’t take anything seriously”, “I know my city inside out, every corner of every dark alley”, and “Are you ready to protect Gotham city with me?” are a few of his catch phrases.
Lydia thinks he is great fun! She dressed up as Batgirl for ComicCon last year and really enjoyed seeing all the Batman stuff there – including “meeting” the man himself, but this is her first Batman toy and she couldn’t be more delighted.
As well as being interactive, Batman is completely huggable, made out of soft plush fabrics. It’s toddler safe, too. There are no small or detachable bits, with his utility belt embroidered onto the body, and his black fabric clock & hood firmly attached.
You can switch him on/off and change his batteries by accessing the control unit in a Velcro concealed pocket in his back. A screwdriver is required to change the batteries, and it comes with batteries already installed which is always appreciated.
Lydia has been having a whale of a time playing Batman & Batgirl, flying around and saving the day. She loves the “bu-cha” punch sound effect in particular, and making him say his different catchphrases while she gives him a big cuddle.
I do think this toy is a touch on the pricey side, but other than that concern it’s great, and ideal for any young superhero fan! 4 stars for Batman… Happy Batman Day!
