Product: Fingerlings Glitter Panda
Price: £14.99, available in store at Tesco
Age Range: 5 years+
Manufacturer’s Description: Fingerlings baby pandas are tons of fun! They’re curious about the world around them and love to grab onto things… especially your fingers! These adorable pets respond to noise, motion and touch in all kinds of sweet and comical ways. They blink. They blow kisses. They talk in panda singsong! They even fall asleep when you rock them gently. And if you shout or make a loud noise, they gets really startled! Adopt them all and play with the sweetest panda pals around!
Review: The girls adore their Fingerlings toys and get them out to play with fairly often, so when a brand new glittery Fingerlings baby panda arrived they were VERY excited.
We have a couple of the Fingerlings monkeys already, as well as the Monkey Bar and Swing Set, so Lydia and Georgie were very pleased to add a new animal to their collection. We received Drew, the black & white panda – there is also a pink & white one called Polly, and a blue & white one called Archie. Pandas are the latest addition to the range of animals – you can also get sloths, unicorns, sabre tooth tigers and even dinosaurs! We have a couple of monkeys hidden upstairs waiting to be wrapped up for Christmas Day!
Drew was packaged in the typical and now-familiar Fingerlings packaging, with his name on the front of the packet. It is easy enough to get into with a pair of scissors, and the LR44 batteries you need are included so it is ready to go as soon as you get it out of the packaging – which is always so much better on Christmas morning than faffing with batteries and risking not having any in the house!
Drew’s black arms, legs and tail are all glittery, his ears are plain smooth black plastic, and he has an adorable black tuft of fur on the top of his head. He is one cute tiny panda!
The Fingerlings Pandas have small round tails instead of the long curly ones that the monkeys have, so they can’t swing by their tails but can still cuddle your finger, and interact with you and other fingerlings. The eyes open and close, and the head moves around, and it has over 40 sounds – he even blows kisses and snores softly when asleep.
Georgie and Lydia both went a bit gaga over their cute new member of their fingerling family, and have been playing with it on it’s own as well as with their other fingerlings and their playset. Lydia loved rocking it to sleep, and Georgie was giving it a go on the swing and sat in the seat of their playset.
Drew has an on/off switch on the back of his head, along with a speaker, and you can replace the batteries by unscrewing the compartment on his back. We have had a little bit of glitter transferring onto the girls fingers, but nothing too bad – and I think it was only the few loose bits because it was new.
Georgie and Lydia are both delighted with this toy, and it is super cute with a lot of interactivity packed into really small – and adorable – package. Drew knows when he’s lying down or upright, and is touch and noise sensitive. We give him 5 stars.
