Manufacturer’s Description: We’re Going on a Bear Hunt 4-in-1 Games Cube is a little box jam packed with four traditional fun games for preschoolers – Matching Bingo, Snap, Twisted Pairs and Four Shapes in a Row. The Games Cube now features beautiful artwork from the hugely successful TV animated film based on the classic children’s book. Measures 135mm and are perfect for children aged 3 and upwards.
Review: Both Georgie and Lydia love to play board and card games, and have a lot of fun playing them together. I think they are really helpful for kids to learn to play nicely together, and get to grips with the concept of not winning all the times!
This 4-in-1 Games Box is a really nice set of four different games for children from pre-school age onwards. The We’re Going on a Bear Hunt theme is really sweet, using the new illustrations from the TV adaptation that aired at Christmas. The girls loved the animation, and instantly recognised the characters on the box. We’re Going on a Bear Hunt is a much-loved story in this household so they were delighted with these games.
The box comes with a pack of cards which you can play Snap and Twisted Pairs with. Snap is the standard card game, but Twisted Pairs has some extra fun on the standard memory games. If the It’s a Bear! card appears then you shuffle the remaining face down pairs so that nobody knows where any cards are.
Also included is a spinner, four cards (that fit together for one of the games), and two sets of tokens/counters. Well written instructions are included for each game, and everything fits back into the box easily when it is time to pack it up.
The two board games included in the box are 4 Shapes in-a-Row and Matching Bingo. The four cards fit together for the shapes game and the players use the spinner to find out if they can place tokens on a shape, a colour or steal one of the other’s player’s tokens off the board. The winner is the first to get four in a row and the girls really enjoyed this one, it is a lot of fun.
Matching Bingo was another big hit – the girls took turns to turn over the cards and then had fun matching the illustrations and colours on the cards to their boards. Georgie helped Lydia out with her board at times and was the first to spot when Lydia got five in a row to win the game.
As you can tell from the video, the girls had so much fun with this box of games! The illustrations are really beautiful and the games are a lot of fun, with added twists to make them a bit different to those we’ve played before. 5 stars for this lovely games box!
