Review: I wasn’t expecting to love this product quite as much as I do, but I think this nightlight is actually really great. I don’t give out a lot of 5 star ratings but the Gro-light definitely deserves one – it is going to be so perfect for us.

As soon as the girls new bedroom was completed we installed our Gro-light before refitting their lampshade, and we have been so pleased with it over the last few days & nights, I can already tell it’s going to be so useful.

This nightlight sits between your light fitting and light bulb, connecting to the fitting through either a standard bayonet or an E27 screw fitting (you have to buy the specific type of Gro-light for your fitting). You then fit your normal light bulb into the other side of the Gro-light. Really simple, and easy to fit.

The first click of the light switch, and the Gro-light turns on. Click the switch off and on again, and the main light turns on. If you wait a while after clicking the Gro-light off, then click the switch back on, then the Gro-light comes on again first – which prevents accidental bright-light situations.

No additional power sockets being taken up, no wires to worry about, no batteries to change – love it!

The nightlight brightness is completely adjustable via a small wheel on the side of the Gro-light, and goes from a really dim light to a fairly bright nightlight – perfect for toddler nighttime potty training.

With two kids sharing one room, it’s important for us to have something that gives enough light for one child to get up safely and go to the toilet/use the potty, without being so bright it wakes up the other child – or prevents sleep in the first place if we choose to leave it on over night.

It’s also really useful to be able to check on the girls in the night without waking them up by shining a bright light at them – the Gro-light provides a gentle & even glow that is bright enough to move around the room quietly and see the girls snug in their beds. For young babies who still need changing in the night, then this light would be bright enough for changing nappies by without disturbing your child too much.

It looks great with their hot air balloon lampshade.

We use a Gro-clock already with great success – Georgie in particular loves it – and we used Gro-bags for years for both our girls. The Gro-light is definitely another winner from The Gro Company! 5 stars.

    1. It is so useful! We are finding it really great for checking on the girls at night as it doesn’t wake them up at all.
