Review: Colin Thompson’s illustrations are fantastical and full of amusing details, and now you can get a colouring book full of them. This A4 colouring book has 35 double page spreads taken from his most popular jigsaw puzzles and books.
The paper quality in this book is great, and it makes an enjoyable colouring experience. As you colour it in, you spot more & more of the small details in this book which are funny and whimsical.
My only criticism of the book is that there is a bit too much shading on some of the illustrations; rather than just outlines to be coloured in, the images have a fair amount of grayscale shading. Because of this, they probably suit the use of coloured pencils rather than felt pens or fine liners.
The drawings are really quirky and detailed, and the more you look the more you spot. 4 stars for this enjoyable colouring book.
