Review: This jigsaw from Ravensburger features a beach scene, by illustrator Andy Walker, full of lovely little details.

The completed jigsaw is a very typical traditional British beach scene, with children building a sandcastle, grandparents relaxing on deck chairs. A Punch and Judy show is in the background, and you can see children enjoying donkey rides further down the beach. At the top of the image, a traditional pier can be seen. It is quite nostalgic!

A Day at the Beach Jigsaw puzzle review

The jigsaw was challenging in places due to the amount of sand, sea and sky in the picture, and quite enjoyable to put together. I liked all the different colours and details in the puzzle, and found it really relaxing to complete.

This puzzle has 500 pieces, measuring 49 x 36 cm when completed. I would say it was appropriate for any age from pre-teens upwards. It took me about three hours to complete, over two hours. It comes with an info sheet which has the puzzle picture along with some information about the puzzle & the artist – I really like these.

A Day at the Beach Jigsaw puzzle review

As I’ve come to expect from Ravensburger, the is made of decent quality cardboard, with a linen finish on the image which helps to reduce glare. I did have a few pieces that weren’t cut as well as they could have been with thing one which was a shame – I had to pull them apart as I was sorting through the pieces.
