Rating: (4/5 stars) Review: We were sent a couple of the Style 4 Ever Mini Beauty Surprise Bags to check out and review, and I think they make a great stocking filler this Christmas – ideal for tweens with a burgeoning interest in makeup, like our Lydie. Each surprise bag includes a few mini beauty products, a sample product, a little pouch, and a sticker sheet. Everything comes packed inside the pouch, with the mystery beauty products wrapped in pretty tissue paper. There are three types of surprise bags available: one for lips, one for eyes, and one for nails. We received a lips bag and an eyes bag, and Lydia was delighted with the contents. Between the two bags, she got two different shades of mini lipstick, two mini beauty blenders, liquid eyeshadow, a four-colour eyeshadow palette with applicator, a perfume sample (two mini wipes), and a blush cream sample. Lydia was thrilled with her ‘haul’ and especially loved the cute little pouches everything is kept in. The stickers made her happy too – she’s a bit like her mum in that way; new stationery is always welcome! The products themselves seem to be fairly good quality – especially for “kids’ makeup” – with a decent amount of pigmentation. The liquid eyeshadow in particular looks really pretty on the skin. I also appreciate that the packaging is all paper or cardboard – much better for the environment than little plastic baggies. These little gift bags do a great job of combining the fun of a mystery surprise (like the ones the girls adored when they were younger) with slightly more grown-up makeup products inside. As well as the Mini Surprise Bags, Style 4 Ever have also released a larger vending-machine-style Beauty Dispenser that would make a great gift under the Christmas tree this year. As the girls have grown older and outgrown most toys, they’ve become harder to buy for, but this range is a great option for children in the later years of primary school and tweens. I think the price point for these Mini Surprise Bags is just right, given how much you get and the decent quality of the contents. I asked Lydia to help decide on our rating, and she gives them 4 stars.
