Christmas is fast approaching, and I’ve started to think about what we are going to be buying the girls for their stockings, and their bigger presents from us too.
There are always the inevitable requests from relatives for gift ideas as well – I dread these as they don’t come with £ signs attached… what if we ask for something too expensive, and end up making someone feel uncomfortable? At the same time, I don’t want the girls to miss out on getting something they would really enjoy simply because I haven’t asked.
Niki over at The Toadstool is asking bloggers to put together their Christmas Wishlists from their amazing selection of toys – I’m never one to turn down some virtual window shopping (especially after a long day stuck inside with poorly kids) so without any further ado, here are the items I would love to put under the tree on Christmas Eve for my two girls.
A selection for Georgiana
Georgie will be two & a half at Christmas time, and is starting to really enjoy imaginative play, music, building & creating, playing mummy to her dolls, and playing with balls.
Georgiana really enjoys playing with dolls these days, and loves to push them around in her toy pushchair. We have a cheap & cheerful pushchair that we picked up in a supermarket, but it is definitely showing signs of frequent use, and we have actually had to resort to repairing it with duck tape! I would love to get a decent wooden pram for her to use for her toys, like this one.
HABA MY FIRST BALL TRACK – LARGE BASIC PACK
James is a huge marble run fan so when I saw this ball track I knew it would be a perfect choice for our Christmas wishlist! He is really looking forward to playing marble runs with her when she is a bit older, and this would allow that time to be a little closer than he imagined!
Georgie is really getting into music lately; lots of singing & dancing. We have been listening to fun music at dinner time while we’re at the table and singing together in the daytime. She is very proud to be doing lots of action songs lately, whereas she used to not be bothered by them at all. A fab musical instrument set like this would be perfect to help her continue exploring music.
RUBBABU 7 PIECE BOWLING SET
Our little girl is starting to be a bit sportier too – throwing and (attempting) catching balls, trying to kick them about, etc. A set like this would be perfect to help her work on her aim, and as it’s made of rubber foam it poses no risk to hurting Lydia while she’s practising!
A selection for Lydia
Lydia, who will turn 10 months just a few days after Christmas Day, is starting to explore her surroundings more & more. She has already started trying to move about, and loves to play with things now… not just stick them into her mouth to chew! Here are a few things I think she’d love in a few months
HABA DISCOVERY BLOCKS CURIOSO
I love these blocks – Lydia is very much in the inspect everything she picks up stage, and these blocks would be perfect for that. Sensory exploration is really important at this early age.
LILLIPUTIENS NICKY THE DISCOVERY DUCK
This duck is so cute! I love the way it opens up to reveal all sorts of hidden fun inside, Lydie would be bound to adore it.
LILLIPUTIENS BASIL THE MONKEY MUSICAL SOFT TOY AND TEETHING RING (MUSICAL CUDDLE)
Basil is really fun! Who doesn’t love a monkey? With all sorts of features this is perfect for a little lady like Lydia including a teether for her to chomp on.
MAUD N LIL ORGANIC LONG EARS THE RABBIT
How sweet is this!? I couldn’t resist adding one of these adorable Maud n Lil cuddlesome toys to the list for Lydia. This bunny looks wonderfully snuggly.
