The National Autistic Society are jumping on board with the loom band craze to raise money and awareness for their cause. I was given a loom for my birthday a few weeks ago so I thought I would do some good with it and join in with their “Be looming amazing!” campaign to make & sell some loom band bracelets.
If you are interested in taking part, just sign up here and they will send you out some loom bands in their colours; purple, white & pink. You’ll also get some cards to pop the bracelets on, and some instructions on what to do and how to donate.
Once you’ve made your bracelets (with or without your children’s help!) you can either sell them yourself and give NAS the money, or send them the bracelets themselves so they can sell them.
I have made all of my bracelets and my Mum and husband are both going to take them into their workplaces to sell them. The suggested donation is £2 per bracelet so hopefully my 21 bracelets (for some reason I didn’t get the correct number of cards) will raise at least £42 for the charity.
All good stuff, and it was fun to learn different styles of bracelet, and experiment making up some as I went. I made some fairly plain ones on purpose as they are going to all be sold to adults at work, who might not want anything too over the top!
