Our Sofia the First twitter party!

Home Chit Chat Our Sofia the First twitter party!

Earlier today I told you what I thought of the new Sofia the First micro playsets, and now I am going to show you how much fun we had at our Sofia the First party on Thursday! We had loads of fun, and it was great to see Georgie and Lydia having so much fun with their friends and cousin.

We invited six children to the party which meant we had 8 toddlers & preschoolers running about the place causing general mayhem. The activities all went really well!

The kids had a great time making a mess with some cake & biscuit decorating, and making micro melon shapes with the little cutters.

Up next was pass the parcel. It was a new experience for a few of them but they cottoned on pretty quickly and enjoyed the hidden treats secreted away in each layer. My niece won the grand prize – a tiara playset! Thanks to Bex for being in charge of the music while I tweeted and tidied up the table!

In my usual style I over catered and we have been happily munching on treats and nibbles since the party as a result. The kids seemed to enjoy the food (and some of the adults too!), and the micro-sized cakes that Georgie and I baked the day before went down a treat. I tried to do Sofia colours for the food so it was all very purple and pink.

Treasure hunting came next, and the kids had great fun tramping around our long front garden hunting for the plastic eggs. When they had all been found they opened them up to find chocolatey treats inside, and in one egg was hidden a micro Prince James. R, the only boy and the eldest child at the party, cleaned up at the treasure hunt, finding about half the eggs. He was a clear winner and also found the egg with the extra treat in! He won both prizes, an earring playset & a bracelet, and took them home to his big sister.

We finished up the afternoon with some tiara making and the kids went mad with sequins, stickers, glitter glue & gems. When all the tiaras were finished we started decorating the balloons instead.

Hometime, and the kids were delighted with the bundle of goodies they got to take home with them; a Sofia the First magazine, dvd, poster & a bracelet playset each.

Georgie really loved her “first party” and was especially happy to have her new friends from playgroup there, as she is so happy to be settling in, making roots, and finding local friends her age. She hasn’t stopped talking about the party since Thursday, and her Sofia princess poster is now in pride of place on her bedroom wall!
