The weather has been absolutely appalling since we arrived in Cornwall a week or so before Christmas, and not only is it interfering with my parents’ internet connection (disastrous for blogging & twitter!!), it is definitely causing a large case of cabin fever for everyone stuck indoors.
The dry spells, what little of them there have been, have been short-lived and have all ended abruptly with huge downpours of rain, sleet or hail. Any ideas of heading out for wandering rambles around the beautiful countryside surrounding this little village have been firmly squashed by the dark clouds constantly appearing overhead, and the waterlogged & very muddy ground.
One day last week, however, the weather was slightly kinder than ‘normal’, so Mum and Dad took the girls out for a stroll around the village while James and I sorted out things and packed his case so he could head back up to Birmingham (*sob*). They all had a good dose of fresh air, and we had some peace and quiet to organise things, not to mention a moment all to ourselves before James left.
Georgie returned clutching a leaf (because that’s what she does on walks), and excited to have seen some farm animals on her travels. I think it was probably very good for our little miss to have a chance to get outside because we have definitely been feeling trapped this week, that morning of sunshine seems to have been almost the only moment of good weather we have had for three weeks!

It’s such a shame that you weren’t able to get out more, it’s definitely been dismal over most of the UK this winter. At least you were able to have a lovely break with family and a chance to spend some quality time together and recharge ready for the new year. Happy New Year to you all and thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.
The weather is so dismal! We have been doing lots of indoor activities but I am wishing for better weather soon
