All this snow is very pretty. We have had inches and inches of the stuff now, and the roads and pavements and everything else in sight is absolutely covered in it. Today, the snow hasn’t stopped since first thing in the morning, defying the met office’s estimate of 1-2 cm to give us 5 or 6 times that with no signs of letting up yet.
The dog is very disapproving of the whole thing. She keeps having to re-break her path in the back garden and it’s up to her shoulders now. Toilet trips are as short as possible and she won’t go until she’s ejected out the back door.
While Homily wades through the snow, Georgie stands by the open back door looking out at the strange white stuff, then backs slowly away. Mocc Ons are worn at all times in case she accidentally stands on a bit of tracked in snow, following the barefooted incident that caused 10 minutes of horrified tears on Friday morning.
I am under house arrest. From the first day of icy weather, before I even got sick at the start of the week, I have been forbidden from setting a single foot outdoors without my husband by my side. A fall at this stage of the pregnancy could start a bleed, and a serious bleed could lead to very scary things.
With below freezing temperatures filling the forecast, the hope of taking Georgie to the sure start centre for playgroup, or even to the library for rattle n rhyme at least once before the baby comes is dwindling away before my eyes. I can’t tell you how frustrating that is.
I think I might be going a bit bonkers.
At least it’s pretty.

I’m obviously not pregnant, but I feel your frustrations! I can’t go out because Byron can’t walk yet & I don’t know how well the buggy will cope with snow, as well as me with ice! I haven’t been out since Friday morning when I did the food shop. ARGGGHHHHHHHH x
