Last December I shared a selection of Christmas Gift Card envelopes that I designed to make our girls’ present of a Primark shopping spree a little more exciting. It has taken me a while to finish in between other projects, but I now have ten birthday designs to share that can be printed at home to give a bit more excitement to the (slightly boring but practical!) birthday present of a gift card.
Personally I love getting a gift card as it lets me choose something for myself guilt free – no worrying that I should be spending it on something practical or for my daughters! Now the girls are in high school they are getting harder to buy for, so taking them out shopping to choose their own things is a great gift for them – they loved their shopping trip with their Christmas gift cards, so we might end up doing the same again this year.
I’ve tried to cover a good range of themes & styles so there is something for everybody – from soft florals to cartoon dinos.
Gift cards in the UK & Europe tend to come in a few standardised sizes – A6 card with a gift card stuck on, the M6 Snap where you pull the gift card off a larger piece of card/plastic, and Primark’s square card design. I’ve included these three sizes for each design, along with matching sized note paper to slip into the envelope with the card to allow you to write a message to go with your birthday gift.
