After Georgie behaved herself remarkably well when we had to sit around the hospital for over 3 hours yesterday afternoon (which meant skipping her nap) I felt like she deserved a detour to the park this morning when we popped out to the shops. Plus, it had the added bonus of making me feel like I wasn’t a completely crap & boring mummy… all I really wanted to do today was flake out on the sofa, thanks to a disturbed night which included a wriggly toddler curled up next to me in bed for several hours.
There is nothing my little girl likes more than a good slide, and as you can see the one at our local park is super fun. It’s amazing how much fun a toddler can have in a deserted park in the freezing cold… her Regatta all in one suit is doing a fab job at keeping her dry and warm, as well as making her slide extra quick!
Heading out to a park for fun and frolics is such an easy thing to do with kids; most people have a park within walking distance, and Georgie certainly doesn’t seem to think that the fact it is now winter should stop us heading to ours… although I do draw the line at going out when it’s bucketing it down, especially since my coat is unable to do up over the bump anymore. Going to the park also has the bonus of being completely free!
I actually love the fact that the park is emptier at this time of year – whenever we go Georgie seems to have free reign over the whole place so I don’t have to worry about bigger kids shoving past her when she is clambering around. It’s peaceful too, if you ignore her constant chattering! I think we’ll be heading there again soon 🙂

One of the benefits of being outdoors at this time of the year is the lack of everyone else! Going out shouldn’t just be a summer activity with lovely all in ones like this on the market however it does feel like more of an effort, probably just for us adults though! Lovely photos from a sunny day. Thank you for joining me on Country Kids
What a fab slide! We found ourselves alone at our local park the other day…I could not understand why?! Especially as the sun was shining for a change! It’s great you got out.
